I had the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of settings. At Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Club, I supported the medical team by providing pre-game treatments, assisting with pitch-side first aid, and helping with injury assessment throughout the season. Within the University of Gloucestershire Student-Led Sports Therapy Clinic, I assessed and treated patients with a range of musculoskeletal conditions, creating individualised rehabilitation programmes and supporting them throughout their recovery. I also completed a hydrotherapy placement, delivering exercise-based rehabilitation in an aquatic environment and adapting treatment programmes to meet the patient’s needs.

I particularly enjoy working closely with patients, creating a rapport and building their confidence throughout rehabilitation, and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Alongside my degree, I am a competitive netball player. I have held the roles of Vice Captain and Club Welfare Officer, which have further developed my leadership, teamwork, organisation, and communication skills. Being an athlete myself has given me first-hand insight into the physical and psychological challenges of injury, rehabilitation, and returning to performance.
